Happy Thursday!! Its been a while since I have been able to blog and I finally have a bit of time now that the kids are in bed and Christian is still at work. Unlike most husbands mine does not always come home after work, but goes to work somewhere else for a few hours almost every night. But tomorrow I am going to steel him from his work and make him take me out for dinner and maybe a movie. So tonite I have been on the phone looking for a babysitter. So far no luck but I am determined. (I will not fail)
I need a break from my family vacation and a date with hubby will be just the thing I need. I think its kind of funny that I need a break from vacation but after driving for 14 hours all in one day both there and back. Kids being cranky and saying "where are we" about a hundred times I feel I am due for a night out.
Don't get me wrong the weekend was good especially since we stretched it into a 6 day weekend. We enjoyed our time in Fort Saint John with Christians brother and his family.
The kids had a lot of fun playing with there cousins. Darcee took to Caitlyn and Caitlyn loved to be with her. Dallin and Darcee also played a lot together. But by day 4 we could tell they were more comfortable with each other because they started to argue over the games they were playing. It was funny to hear them call each other out for cheating.
(am not...did too...I saw you look....thats cheating)

Morgan is growing up so fast, she did a bit of babysitting while we were up there
(60 bucks for 6 hours...glad for the rates we got down here for sure)
She doesn't do diapers yet so I didn't leave her with my kids but next time I am sure she will be up for it. Of course the kids love Morgan her being the older cousin. I thought this pic was so cute all of them trying to hold her hand.
This was the second year we have gone up to FSJ for Thanksgiving (not in a row because last Thanksgiving we spent in Africa) and it was sooooo gooood. Dena made an awesome turkey while Morgan and I did pumpkin pies.
It was so fun helping Morgan learn to bake a bit.
The only bad thing about spending Thanksgiving away from home is that I have no leftover turkey in the fridge. In fact I came home to a bare fridge. Now I have to find the time to get some groceries as well as do all the laundry and get the house back in order as well as all the other things I do for the kids.
I really do think being a Mom is a full time job I just wish we got paid to do it too.
I wanted to go away for Thanksgiving, but it just didn't work out! :( lucky you guys. I would tell you my babysitters but then I would have to kill you! JK I just can't share.
ReplyDeleteI agree Moms' should get paid!!!
