We had a couple new arrivals in our family yesterday!
First my Brother and Sister in law had there first baby at 2:30 pm. Tracey (MOM) was so brave and had the baby at home with a mid wife. I use to think that was so new age and not my thing, but after having Dallin in a Calgary hospital, which is where they live, I would definitely have considered that if we had stayed in the city.
Like I said she was very brave, an little Ayla Anne was born healthy and so is Mom.
I am really looking forward to meeting her and getting to hold her.
I love babies! But I am so glad that that stage of my life is over. I like having big kids around the house. I am truly blessed with the kids I do have. the are becoming independent and each have there own unique personalities.
And they love to sleep. Not many parents can say that. I hope it last through the teenage years too.
I can put all my kids to bed at 8:00 and ten minutes later it is quite in the house. My kids were always good nappers and usually asked to go down for a nap. Even in pre-school and kindergarten they napped.
And when they wake up they quietly watch a movie or play in there rooms, sometimes they even get themselves breakfast (Dallin helps the younger two) and I can sleep in a bit in the morning.
Yes 7:00 is sleeping in. My kids are usually up at 6.
These last couple days that has been a blessing seeing as how I have had a terrible 24hr flu.
I was so dehydrated, I passed out in the bathroom. Dallin just quietly put a bucket near my head and left. Christian on the other hand got after me for not drinking enough. Says I was going to go into shock if I didn't start drinking more. He got his way. And I feel much better too.
Back to the reason for this post.
Arrival #2
Penny
She is a blue tick/bloodhound cross, and she is four months old. I love her droopy ears. The kids wanted to call her PINK! but Grandma thought Penny would be a good name since we have Copper too.
Penny is so good tempered too. But she doesn't take any guff from Copper which is good since he is twice her size. We have to feed them at the same time though because Copper loves puppy food and will eat all Penny's food if he doesn't have his own.
And she is good with the kids, even on a leash, which Copper definitely is not.
So those are the two new arrivals around here.
Both on November 29th.
Turned out to be a happy Day
