Untangling Yo-Yo's, supervising Shrinky Dinks (remember those), setting ipod play lists, breaking up fights, playing Trouble again, finding lost game pieces, cooking yet another meal....Does this sound anything like your Christmas break.
I truly have enjoyed the Christmas Holiday and liked New years too. But I am so ready for the kids to be back in school. Back into a routine were I am in control (or at least the illusion of control). I feel a little overwhelmed with the house work I see and there just seems to be no way to get any headway on it until the kids are gone. Sure they can clean up too but they can mess it up 10X quicker and do so more often than not.
So today is the day I take down the tree and all the Christmas paraphernalia and Tomorrow I clean.
As I said Christmas was great, we rented a cabin with Christians Family out by Police Lake and had a really fun time. The Cabin had a tree and all the bedding and stuff was there so all we had to do is bring clothes, food and gifts. It was a nice way to spend Christmas!
We did a Nativity on Christmas eve, we let the kids place the pieces as we read the story out of the bible. All the kids got a chance to put a piece down even the small kids. After the Elves came and dropped off Christmas Jammies for everyone.
Madison wanted me to set up my camera to catch Santa as he set up the gifts, he must have set off the trigger but was tricky enough not to get caught in the action because this is all we were able to catch on camera. Just a bunch of gifts under the tree!
Well the weekend wasn't all Presents! We did a bit of sledding (okay a lot, every day)
Cross country Skiing, as well as a few walks down the road and up the Mountain.
Logan called the hill out back Chief Mountain, and he really wanted to hike up it. So we walked to the top of the hill and looked at the real Chief Mountain ( I didn't bring my camera because I had two kids in tow on their sleds and didn't want to drop it as I fell a lot)
Once at the top we did more sledding!
And of course we had food, tons of food!
The Turkey was so good, I just love a good Turkey dinner! I think I may just make a quarterly meal this year! I mean I really love Turkey!!!!
There was a bunch of goofing off too. Nerf gun wars were a very common thing Christmas day as all the boys (Dads too) got a Nerf gun from Santa!
We all had a ton of fun and still I am glad tomorrow is a school day! I don't know there is just something about the Christmas hangover!!
Now it is back to working out, the Mom taxi service and a regular meal schedule and I am truly looking forward to it.
Oh yes and I almost forgot, it is Birthday season around here!
So the sweets and the gifts are not to far gone yet!
so fun its been but I am with you can't wait for them to go to school! Get routine and some more cleaning done we took the tree and decor down today so it already feels so much better!
