As I had a sick kiddo on Sunday I didn't get to church and I really needed that weekly spiritual boost (I know it is hard to get it in primary but it has it's moments).
I even tried to pry who spoke and about what by hubby but he was tired due to having all the kids at church by himself.
So I did a little extra reading in my scriptures and tried to study an interesting topic.
I even went online and did some research on the topic and boy was I in for a surprise.
There is a lot of anti-Mormon content on the Internet.
I guess maybe I was being a little naive, but really are we all that bad.
(just so you know I didn't read any of it, just the header but that was bad enough)
I really got a glimpse of "opposition in all things"
It made me realize how lucky I am to have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in it's fullness in my life.

Christian and I went to the temple Friday and I realized I love these Friday dates the best. It always feels good to home and be uplifted.
Sometimes a movie night can blacken your spirit, it really pays to watch what you expose yourself to. I always feel better to walk out or shut it off even though the world may mock.
At our house we have no TV as in no satellite, cable or even peasant vision.
So we watch a lot of movies.
Sometimes I feel disconnected from the news and such, but most of the time I am glad my kids are not exposed to a lot of harmful media, as well as not watching a bunch of TV.
One or Two movies a day are played but never watched all the way through. The play together more often (which also results in more fighting) But I love to see how close they are and how they really think of each other as friends.
They like to read too (/www.goodreads.com/review/list/1373611 my book list) and since I love to read we can develop this together. Which brings us closer.
I just love my kids.
Your kids are SOOO adorable. I love that you guys don't have TV. It will prove to be a huge blessing when they are older. I really enjoyed this post!
ReplyDeleteYou have such sweet, cute kids! And I love that you don't have TV in your house. I totally understand date nights to the temple vs. date nights to a worldly movie theatre. We are so blessed to have the Temple. And missing Sacrament....is hard for me. Good thing for all the GOOD resources out there and scriptures, prayer and the Temple that can give us that boost anytime. You are such a great mom and person. I love this post!! I love anything that is wholesome and I can tell that your family and home is just that!
ReplyDeleteAlso the collage of words on my camp post....google wordle.net. Then hit the create button. It's super easy. But for some reason I could only get it to work on Mac computers. Every PC I tried to create one on, it wouldn't work at all. They are fun. I made one for Mont and I about our first five years together. I love it!
