Live each day like it really Matters

Summer days.

It really has been a busy summer and we are only on week two.
I have been camping, enjoyed the Raymond July 1st celebrations including the rodeo this year. (it was our first year going since all the kids are old enough to sit through it now)
We had our yearly BBQ at Uncle Reeds which is always fun.
The kids had a little camp out in the back yard complete with wiener roast.
And mosquito's.
So this week I decided to slow down a bit.
I put the kids to work in the garden.

Dallin just started to weed the tomatoes
but I sent in Madison to help

She wasn't too happy but gotta teach them to work (that's my Grandma talking)

Here is my lettuce, looking so delicious I can't wait to make a salad tonight.

The strawberries are just starting to ripen, as long as I can keep the kids out of there they may have a chance to get big enough to make a nice dessert or two.

My faithful protectors. The Marigold. They not only keep the potato bugs away, but the also chase away cut worms and other ornery pest out of the garden.

So when I say slow down I just mean not going to many places and working around the house. I have been trying to keep the yard short, with all this rain the grass is so tall the kids hide in it. But my lawn tractor just can't keep up.
I know its old and has a tendency to break down every time I use it.
(Thank goodness Christian is willing to put it together every time it breaks)
But I still like it.
I just like old things. They seem to work good and when they do break it is easier to fix, because it is simply put together.

Besides have you seen the price on a new lawn tractor. (YIKES)

So the little kittens are growing and getting ready to leave home.
Grandma Mora has already claimed one.
The kids call him Teenie. She calls him Mister Big.
She has a thing for small creatures and he is small.

Teenie is as big as his siblings were a two weeks.
But he sure is cute.

The Male kittens ears curl back and come with a hefty price if bought from a breeder.(American Curls) But as for these cats they are purely and genuine mousers. Momma cat is teaching them well.
BTW free to a good home.
