Spring....

I do believe it is here. I see little spikes of green peaking out of the matted brown outside. Already the bug collecting has started around our house. My kids are donning sweaters instead of bulking winter coats. THe dogs are basking in the sunshine and even the horses are taking there turns basking and running in the sunshine. 

I had to open the window and let in a breeze the other day because the sun was heating up the house. 

Sure it may not be all nice and warm but for now I will take all the vitamin D I can get. 

I am excited to pull out the rake and shovel and start some yard work. 

Really, all that junk was hiding under the drifts... Ya a little yard work is in order

Now if only we could convince the wind to die down a bit and then it would be perfect. 

On another note; we celebrated the last of our birthdays at our house until next year. The birthday marathon is done and we went out in style. 

All the family came and we ate lasagna (my special recipe) and black forest cake. It was so good and so filling. 

Now the cake was amazing.

I got the recipe from My mother in law who got it from someone else. But it was so good, I have decided to never make an ordinary box cake mix again.

Now you do use the box mix but you don't follow the directions. Instead you add 1/2 small box of instant pudding, 1 cup of sour cream, 4 eggs, 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 cup of oil. 

Wow it is so good.

Well another thought about spring. This year instead of doing a christmas concert (which I was so happy about because one the christmas play was getting old and two christmas time is so busy) the kids put on a spring concert

It was so cute and funny. 
When we got to the cultural hall at 5 minutes after 6 (doors opened at 6) the place was already packed, but my thoughtful Brother in law who is also Dallin's teacher save us front row seat. SWEET! I never get front row.
Well This was the first year I got good pictures too.

It was a good concert, Caitlyn loved watching and Logan cannot wait until he gets to be in one. 
Well here is to hoping for a nice spring and a hot summer.
