Live each day like it really Matters

All winter long I heard tons of stories of people with sick kids and how it has been a bad year, with lots of things going around. Flu's, colds, and even pneumonia.
I felt so blessed because at our house we have been healthy all winter long. Not a sniffle or a cough.
But with this last week of nice weather something nasty crept into our house. Logan started out with a sore throat then fever; Madison started coughing and is now complaining of a sour throat. But pour Caitlyn, she is just battling a very high fever and battle is a nice way to put it. Last night at about 12:30 after 2 days of Tylenol/Advil doses, a drug induced giddy fest ensued.
She got out of bed and found me and just started babbling and giggling, and just acting so silly. I couldn't get her to go back to sleep and her fever was still raging, I really was considering taking her to emergency because she started getting a really bad barking cough in between her bouts of laughter.
Then I remembered being told that the crisp air can shrink the swelling and help her breath. So I bundled her in a blanket and we went outside and she stopped her coughing. Which was a relief since I was home alone with the kids and didn't want to call to get someone out here in the middle of the night to watch the kids.
Now the coughing stopped but the giggling and silliness didn't stop until about 1:30. We lay in my bed singing insy winsy spider and book of Mormon stories until I could barely keep my eyes open.
The reason I was home alone must have had something to do with the full moon, cause Christian got his first EMS at about 6:30 and they didn't let up until 2:30 in the morning. He drove back and forth between Raymond and Lethbridge 4 times last night and even had to use lights and sirens once.
He said the Lethbridge Hospital had a really busy ER and at least 4 ambulances running too.
Was it truly a full moon last night and does it really affect the things around us so much!

It is highly debated, but the stats at our house say YES the full moon affects us all. And some more than others.
Birthday season around here is coming to a close with only 2 birthdays to go. Logan just celebrated turning the Big 5. We had a small gathering on the day of, and he was thrilled, he loved all the phone calls and attention.
I also planned a party for him and a few of the kids from his preschool class on the 17th. Which was a big mistake. Cause only 2 kids came and they were twin sisters. I really should have had him invite his friends from church cause their Moms know me and none of his school friends moms do. I don't know if that is the reason they never came, and I think I had more of an issue with it than he did. He had a blast playing with the twins and wants to have them over to play again. But it is truly hard to play games and races with only three kids.
But thats my Logan he is always so positive and upbeat. Really not much gets hims down. And he is always smiling and thinking of others.
He is so down right excited to get his birthday present from us this year.
But it will be a little slow getting here because Dad has to get a cage for them first.

Yes that is a lizard, and he is getting 2 of them.
They are green anoles.
Christian had them when he was younger, he really thinks they will be simple to care for and now his kid is going to have them too.
So......
Happy Birthday Logan

Ohh and just on a side note. I love Google. I love that I can find anything on the internet. I really needed to find a way to clean out the jets on my tub so I googled it and voila.... my answer comes popping up for me.
And I am going to tell you how to do it too.
All you do is fill the tub over the jets, add bleach and laundry soap to the water, turn on the jets and run it for 20-30 minutes. Drain and fill again with clean water, run the jets one more time to rinse it. Drain and wipe down. So easy and now my tub sparkles again. Inside and out.

  1. Caitlyn is so cute! Giggling and laughing in the middle of the night when she's so sick...what a gem. That full moon is supposed to be the biggest and brightest it's been in however long...it was pretty bright last night.
And Happy Birthday to cute Logan. He's such a sweetheart in Preschool whenever I am there he's just so kind and quiet. The twins are darling little girls and I'm sure they had a blast at his party (and ps. i do know Logan's mom...haha...not sure if i missed the invite or not for kinlee but just saying...i do know you and think you and your family are great!!) Hard to believe these kids grow up so fast. I remember little baby Logan in his little car seat five years ago and myself still being preggo with Kinlee at the time. Logan's always been darling. All your kids are!
